Standards of Excellence

The Standards of Excellence have been designed to indicate what San José State University expects from each chapter. In addition, the standards show what sets fraternities and sororities apart from other student organizations. It is required that each chapter meets these minimum standards in order to be considered in good standing with the University, and to maintain recognition.

Salsa Classic Champions

The annual ​sports tournament for the United Sorority and Fraternity Council takes place in April of each year. This tournament pits the active chapter of each fraternity and sorority with each other in sports ranging from football, soccer, basketball or volleyball. This event also brings together alumni from each organization.

Five Star Charter

This evaluation tool allows each chapter of Nu Alpha Kappa to display their achievements and hard work through a detailed point system. Every event is carefully judged to give the appropriate amount of points. Depending on the number of points, a chapter will be awarded 1 - 5 stars. Every year a chapter of NAK is named Chapter of the Year for their academic excellence, brotherhood, professional development and strong community involvement.
